What part of “get out” don’t we understand?
Maybe its the “we leave and the terrorists take back over, oppress the Iraqi people and commit genocide” part of it.
I think the “we are not the new Rome” is the part of “out of Iraq now” we’re not grasping. Just my theory.

Sam, “the terrorists take back over”? If I recall correctly, we’ve got that guy on trial now and there was never any significant autonomous “terrorist” activity in Iraq before we invaded.
We created terrorism in Iraq. We gave it a reason and a target.
There can be no doubt that Iraq needs help with stabilization, but the US military presence is the the illness, not the cure.
