In what should come as a suprise to asbolutely no-one, Miers has withdrawn her Supreme Court nomination. I wonder if they’ll hurry to pick another nominee before Rove goes to the slammer?

We were debating this weekend whether Miers’ nomination was always supposed to fail in order to make the Bushie’s seem like they’re willing to compromise (see, see, this new candidate isn’t as bad as the last one), or if Rove and co are just so distracted right now no one is watching the shop, and someone let Bush actually make a descision.

I keep going back and forth between those two options. Either way, I think Bush is losing his touch. The indictments may be the tipping point on national anti-war sentiment. Just like Vietnam, it will still take a while for them move out. And their lies will not be quickly forgotten.
