TITLE: Online Strategies Manager GRADE: E
DIV/DEPT: Public Policy/Field Operations REPORTS TO: Assistant Director Field Operations
LOCATION: Washington, DC EXEMPT

PRIMARY FUNCTION/PURPOSE: The Online Strategies Manager develops and implements online strategies to recruit, educate and mobilize a vibrant community of activists that is ready to take action on important policy issues related to reproductive health and services.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
In coordination with PPFA staff, vendors and affiliate stakeholders, the online strategies manger:

o Designs and maintains PPFA’s advocacy Web site including www.SaveROE.com and www.FillMyPillsNow.com and advocacy subsections of the PlannedParenthood.org Web site such as the Online Action Center, Vox and Republicans For Choice.
o Keeps all web content fresh and current, including campaigns and actions posted to the Online Action Center.
o Implements periodic email communications to the Planned Parenthood Action Network (PPAN) and Planned Parenthood Online (PPOL) lists using Get Active.
o Manages online marketing strategies including online recruitment to PPAN and PPOL.
o Conducts and shares timely and regular analysis of PPAN, PPOL list behavior and site traffic to www.SaveROE.com.
o Collaborates on integration of advocacy strategies with online fundraising strategies with the development division.
o Manages vendor agreements and relationships as they relate to Web activities.
o Collaborates on maintenance and development of national office advocacy systems, particularly Get Active functionality.
o Makes recommendations on new technologies and strategies that could increase the effectiveness of Planned Parenthood’s online organizing work.
o Provides regular communication and updates on all projects and tasks.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree, plus additional related college courses or professional
training
Years of Experience: 5-6 years
Type of Experience General work, directly-related work and progressively responsible
work experience
Other skills/knowledge:
Extremely web savvy and advocacy-oriented. Experience with multiple web platforms; comfortable with HTML coding and basic web design. Excellent verbal and written communication skills—experience writing for the web a plus. Graphic design experience and comfortable working with Adobe programs. Project management skills desired and the ability to multi-task a must. Must be familiar with legislative process. Database and spreadsheet experience helpful. Must work well as a member of a creative team. Problem solving skills needed and ability to stay focused in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of diverse groups, working with a multicultural workforce, and sensitivity and appreciation to cultural differences is required.
