Sick of Clinton’s lies

Just when I was starting to warm up to the the idea of a Clinton vice-presidency, she comes out with this crap that reminds me why I will never (again) support her for any elected office.

Hillary Clinton suggested Wednesday that “White Americans” are increasingly turning away from Barack Obama’s candidacy.
[…]
Clinton cited an Associated Press poll “that found how Senator Obama’s support among working, hard-working Americans, white Americans, is weakening again, and how whites in both states who had not completed college were supporting me.”

“There’s a pattern emerging here,” she said.

Not only is the implication quite racist (that white people won’t vote for a black guy), it’s also wrong (millions of us have). Since I don’t think she’s stupid enough to not understand the facts of this, I can only conclude that she’s lying. Yet another reason that she can’t be trusted and shouldn’t be supported.

  1. Ruby … good post. I have never been a fan of either Bill or Hillary Clinton. I found it appalling that Clinton was termed the first “Black” president by Toni Morrison. I’ve always known that the only people the Clintons truly care about are themselves. However I think it took the candidacy of Hillary to expose the hypocrisy of team Clinton with regard to race.

I definitely do not want Hillary on the ticket with Obama. She is far too polarizing and would be an albatross around his neck. I do wonder however how sincere she is about getting behind whoever the Democratic candidate is. I also am just dying to see how Bill will be “part” of the Obama campaign.

Send Hillary back to the senate and let Bill try to do some good in Africa and let Barak Obama govern the United States.

  2. After all the ammo she gave McCain, how the hell is he gonna choose her for VP?

    Right again, Ruby.

  3. I have to agree. When I heard James Baker and President Carter talking about an Obama/Clinton ticket, I was hopeful that she would take the hint. But her indifference about the racial divides in the recent primaries is deeply troubling.

  4. The good news is that she’s apparently out of the VP running.

BTW, there’s some awesome implicit racism here — “among working, hard-working Americans, white Americans”.

So, “white Americans” is equivalent to “working, hard-working Americans”?

  5. I am really glad you posted your thoughts on her. I was all for a Obama/Clinton ticket all the way to her bizarre comments in May about holding out her primary campaign until June because “you never know” what could happen and her reference to Bobby Kennedy being shot in June of ’68.

    **shakes head***

I don’t know what happened to her
