A friend’s blog discussed “The very public lynching of Teresa Heinz Kerry,” these are my thoughts:
Teresa will get put through the wringer, no doubt. That’s how the right-wingers feel about strong, articulate women, and their media lapdogs will follow their orders as usual.
But I think Teresa will have a better time of it for having come after Hillary Rodham Clinton. The media hated HRC from the get-go, alternately calling her a feminazi one week or too feminine the next. She couldn’t please them, no matter how hard she tried.
The fact that Hillary survived that Salem Witch Trial in D.C., and went on to be popularly elected by a populous state, shows that most people know and love strong women. It’s just insecure men, like Karl Rove and Rush Limbaugh, that will always feel threatened by a woman who doesn’t need them. I pity them.
