For the first time in 15 years – if not ever – I made the honor roll! South by Southwest Interactive (SXSWi) has published a list of the best sessions from 2006, according to the participants. The panel I was on, “Election 2008: Revenge of the Blogs” scored a 4.32 out of 5.
Now that I have been bit by the SXSWi bug, I want to propose a panel of my own next year. (Although I will still happily serve on other people’s panels if they invite me nicely, like Henry did.)
So what should my topic be? I think local political blogging, but a close second is the care and feeding of online comunities, or maybe advocacy blogging. I also think Brian should do a panel about organizing unconferences.
PS: See John, I told you evaluations matter! 😉
fine, i believe you now. it’s very important for the panelists to be able to brag on their blogs, so they need to be somehow ranked by numbers passingly scribbled on pieces of paper by careless conference goers. what was i thinking?!?!
also i think i had a mental block to starting to do them in the middle of the conference. next time i will fill them all out from the beginning!!
C’mon – evaluations are important. How else can we put a stop to boring panels and product pitches?
