The other day I happened across a Judy Tenuta bit on the radio and I remembered how much I enjoyed her humor when I was in college. My friend Vicky and I even saw her perform in Raleigh sometime in the early-90’s.
So I decided to look her up and found that she’s not only alive, but kicking. And that she’s doing a show at the Carolina Theatre this weekend! I bought myself tickets for my 35th birthday.

we LOVED her in college – one our favorite catchphrases of hers was “icky red, sulfur-smelling bozo hair.” I don’t even remember what the context was 🙂

Judy was actually kind of lame. Half of her set was 15 year old jokes! Fortunately she was preceeded by a comedian who calls herself Etta May. She was pretty funny. She made fun of me for being engaged and not having a ring. As if! 😉
