I’ll post more details later, but I want all 3 of you who read this blog to be the among first to know that I have accepted a full-time job with Aspiration! I’ll start officially in September, but I’ll be in San Francisco most of next week for my first official work event: Extreme Usability. I expect it to be “extreme” for me in both the fun and education departments. (How fun? This is my new boss.)
Here’s a description of my position. I am now soliciting proposals for a better job title. 😉
I dont think I am one of the 3, but just the same…CONGRATULAIONS….that job sounds like a weiner!!! All the best with your trial run to SFO and onward.
Excellent Ruby. I like that Aspiration looks at tool users and tool creators.
I hope you keep your local Tech Board rep BrianR in the loop ;-).
gimme a holla if you’ve got some free time in sfo.
Yaayy!! Please get in touch with me and other CompuMentor/TechSoup friends and maybe we can all go to lunch or have a drink or something.
Congrats,
Susan (one of the many more tahn 3 peeps who read this blog)
Wonderful, Ruby! Will you and Brian be moving out there?
Thanks all!
Sally, no freaking way I am moving! 😉 The two co-directors of Aspiration live on opposite sides of the country (CA & MA) so my physical location is not very important, as long as I am near an airport and good Internet connection. It will be very similar to telecommuting to PPFA in that way.
Justin, I would love to see you. I figured you’re so far away that you wouldn’t want to schlep down to SF. I’ll e-mail you…
Congratulations! That is a great job with some great people. I’m sorry I won’t get a chance to meet you at extreme usuability, I enjoyed meeting Brian at AdovocacyDev — but I’ll be busy trying to get some of the fixes you wanted to GA’s tools through the pipeline there.
How cool is this: even though I was a slack-ass and didn’t call Susan Tenby like I should have, I ran into her anyway!
I won’t make the same mistake again. Next time I will get in touch before I come to SF. WAY before. Like, next week. 😉
Hey Ruby,
Congratulations on the new job. Sorry we missed each other in the Bay Area. Next time!
Send anyone along to the main project I’ll be working on and the reason I’m staying in the Bay Area:

See how much mercury is in the fish you consume and how safe you are!
Congrats Ruby! I’ve been pretty cyber-unaware and think I owe you an email. Hope all is well and you’re having fun in SF!
