Woah. If you’re anywhere near my age, please make sure you’re sitting comfortably before I tell you this. The latest Swiffer commercial doesn’t just feature a Devo song, they actually rewrote the song to sing the praises of Swiffer!
“When you’ve got a dirty floor/ You need Swiffer …” and so on, climaxing with, “With Swiffer—place looks great! It’s not too late! Swiffer’s good!”
Here’s a Slate article on whether this (and Madonna’s weak-ass Gap ad) are a sign of the apocalypse. I’m so confused. I thought it was called SwifTer.
