A company called Allerca (tagline: “lifestyle pets”) is developing “hypo-allergenic” cats. You know I feel really bad for anyone who doesn’t get to enjoy the wonderful companionship of cats. But you can’t fight nature! You will lose.
These people need to read Margaret Atwood’s brilliant Oryx & Crake, which is set in a world where genetic engineering spins out of control. Actually now that I think of it, everyone should read it. I just finished it yesterday. The one good thing about being sick is that I get to read a lot.
